For Fall 2026 DeCals, the English department will start accepting Course Proposal forms for review in April to meet COCI's July deadline.Ìý
To teach a DeCal in the English department, please note that you must complete the following:Ìý
- Completed Ìý
- A fully
- A letter of supportÌýfromÌýaÌýmember of the EnglishÌýDepartment faculty
- Submit the for the Chair's Signature — DueÌýbyÌýMonday, June 15, at 11:59pm. No exceptions will be made to this deadline.
Tips to ensure your DeCal Course Proposal Form is ready for department review:
- Please ensure you've completed the necessaryÌýÌýbefore submitting the proposal. Facilitators and co-facilitators must complete theÌýbeforeÌýsubmitting their course proposal form (CPF) to the Department and COCI. No exceptions will be made for late/missed training.Ìý
- OnlyÌýoneÌýfacilitatorÌýmay be listed on the Berkeley Academic Guide. This means only one facilitator will have access to grading. Co-Facilitators will not be considered for course listings; however, co-facilitators can still help run your course and receive credit under English 99/199.Ìý
- If the department approves your proposal, you must submit all required materialsÌýÌýby its deadline which isÌýTuesday, July 14, 2026
